Going professional
More about Divemaster
Divemaster is PADI's first professional rating. It qualifies you to guide certified divers and to assist instructors, and it is the step before becoming an instructor yourself.
Who it suits
Experienced divers who want to work in diving, or simply to dive to a professional standard.
What you can do afterwards
Guide certified divers, assist on courses, and run some PADI programmes such as ReActivate and snorkelling courses.
Your training
Led by a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, the level qualified to help train new instructors.
Before you start
You need Rescue Diver, first aid training from the last 24 months, a doctor-signed medical statement from the last 12 months, and 40 logged dives.
