About the specialty

Wrecks, done properly

Wrecks are some of the most memorable dives there are, and they come with their own hazards. The Wreck Diver specialty teaches you to plan wreck dives, move around a wreck without stirring it up, and use a line and reel.

It is recreational training. It does not cover technical penetration deep inside a wreck.

The course

Two days on the wrecks

eLearning at home, then wreck dives with your instructor.

Day 1

Surveying a wreck

Planning the dive, then surveying and mapping a wreck from the outside.

Day 2

Lines and finning

Finning techniques that do not disturb the silt, and laying and following a line.

A day on the boat

What a day on the boat looks like

7:30amHotel pickup, between 7:30 and 8:30am depending on where you stay

9amWelcome on board and a briefing, then the boat sets off

10:30amFirst dive, then lunch on board from 12pm

1pmSecond dive, then back at the marina around 3 to 4pm

About Wreck Diver

The course teaches you how to plan a penetration dive with a line and reel, within recreational limits. Your instructor decides what is safe on the day.

Adventure Diver or equivalent, and you must be 15 or over.

Yes. PADI eLearning is included.

The main wreck in Hurghada is the El Mina wreck. The Salem Express is a one-day trip from Hurghada to Safaga. Your instructor chooses the wrecks for each dive, depending on the weather and your level.

Safety comes first. If the sea is too rough, the boat does not go out. The details are in our cancellation policy.
